For ten years, the Trojan War has raged. Suddenly, the Greek besiegers disappear, leaving nothing behind but a giant wooden horse. "A gift from the defeated," people think. "A sacrifice to Pallas Athena." The horse is pulled into the city. At night, Greek warriors emerge from it. While ancient Troy is laid to waste by the Greeks, two children meet inside the Trojan Horse. Briseis is Greek, Spourgitis is Trojan. Initially, there is nothing between them but learned hatred. The appearance of a capricious god does not change that. However, the tensions ease, and soon the two find themselves questioning why their peoples are actually beating each other to death.
