Mother's little helpers

Four students from the State Gymnasium Alzey are sitting in September 1964 in Alzey at Cafe Prieß and are making plans to found a band. The Beatles virus has infected the boys. School becomes a secondary matter. Guitars and drums are swirling in their heads. They earn the necessary money through holiday jobs to buy the electric instruments. For his birthday, there is a snare drum from the parents, who support the project.

In Eppelsheim, in the large movie theater of the Orth family, the first rehearsals take place. Kurt Feth, Wolfgang Görtz, Elo Orth, and Werner Ruh name the band "MOTHERS LITTLE HELPERS" after weeks of heated discussions, inspired by a song by the Rolling Stones.

On September 4, 1966, the time has finally come. Together with the group "Mystic Eyes," hundreds of teenagers experience the band's first public performance at the Orth cinema in Eppelsheim.
Hansi Dorn, Walter Görtz, Gerhard Keßel (†), Günther Bolz, and Erich Brück are other musicians who join MLH. Wörrstadt, Eppelsheim, and Alzey are the strongholds of their success.

1968 marks the end of this wonderful chapter of life. The band disbands.

In 1975, they meet in Offenheim and once again play the old songs on the occasion of their 9th anniversary. In 1991, they celebrate the 25th anniversary in Alzey and decide to hold oldie afternoons at the winegrower’s tent together with former Alzeyer bands every Sunday during the winegrower’s festival.

In 1996, they celebrated their 30th anniversary at the Oberhaus in Alzey "at Kuba," and in 2016, they celebrated their 50th anniversary in the original lineup from back then.

Günther Bolz, Wolfgang Görtz, Elo Orth, Kurt Feth, and Erich Brück warmly invite all fans and of course anyone interested to spend the evening with "handmade music" with "MOTHERS LITTLE HELPERS" at the Oberhaus in Alzey starting at 8:00 PM.
