W. A. Mozart's Fantasy K. 397 begins with an introduction that somewhat resembles Bach. This is followed by the Adagio, full of deep tragedy, interrupted by short improvisational sections, followed by a cheerful Allegretto. As the first composer of the evening, Akdenizli plays works by Cecile Chaminade. The magic of these compositions lies in a colorful sound language full of virtuosity and lyricism. With the enchanting sounds of “Ondine” from M. Ravel's “Gaspard de la Nuit,” she virtuously concludes the first half of the program. After the break, we will hear melodies by Fanny Hensel, the sister of F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
