Directly on the Maare-Mosel Cycle Path, between Schalkenmehren in the north and Udler in the south, lies the Sangweiher. This is a shallow dammed body of water with adjacent wetlands and meadows. The area of the Sangweiher is regarded as a relic of a former moor. Due to its significance beyond the region, especially for water and migratory birds, the Sangweiher and its surrounding areas have been included in the European protected area system Natura 2000 (Bird Protection Area). Experience this small natural paradise and discover a special place!
