With a proper bruise on his voice and a furious fireworks display of indie, pop, folk, and more, the native of Ludwigshafen, Gringo Mayer, released his third album “Laav” in January 2025 (#57 on the album charts). Combined with a sardonic presence, somewhere between show star and tragicomedy, he sings with a wink of levity about the absurdities of everyday life and tells stories from the darkest corners of a crazy world.

The support of the evening will be the band Yara. What Yara is really about, you might not want to know. Is it the all-nighters, smoking, love, or the longing for somehow all of it? Sometimes it’s a hedonistic world-weary ballad, other times it’s a wild Dada interlude on stage. For singer Jakob, there is only the extreme; he often dismisses the little happiness in everyday life. This search is translated with Gio, Lisa, and Jacque quite unpretentiously into German-language indie rock.
