Landpartie durch den Ur-Rhein und das Urmeer bis zum Zeugenberg

Gau-Bickelheim, located in the middle of the Rhine Valley? About 10 million years ago the river bed of the Rhine ran roughly along today's A61 motorway. The picturesque wine village with its "Römer-Platz" is located in the middle of the old Rhine Valley. Through the vineyards we will walk along the old Roman road with his ancient secrets. Where did the Celts and Romans celebrate their gods? The journey will take us back 35 million years ago. What did the primeval sea leave to us? Where are the atonement crosses, where are the wayside shrines? Sad, but also funny stories are waiting to be told in a humorous way. Through the town of Gau-Bickelheim with its monuments, the walk takes us to "Zeugenberg". Via the Johannisweg with its stations of the cross you get to the Wißberg and its unique Kreuzkapelle. A lot of history will be told on the way. You then return to the village via the landslide area next to the nature reserve.
