Habitat orchard meadows - natural history tour in Trifelsland
We hike from the parking lot to old and newly established orchard meadows with old fruit varieties. Orchard meadows are one of the richest biotopes in terms of species and provide habitat for rare, endangered plant and animal species. Your guide will show and inform you about these special features, and you will be able to taste products from the orchard meadows. Furthermore, there will be expert information about the Pfälzerwald-Nordvogesen biosphere reserve and the peculiarities of this natural environment. We will return to the starting point or, optionally, stop at the "Dernbacher Haus."
The approximately 4 km long path is well walkable, but with elevation changes. Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear are required. The tour is also suitable and interesting for families with school-aged children.
