• Live blacksmithing: At the open fire, our blacksmiths demonstrate how impressive pieces are created from glowing iron with strength, experience, and great skill – at the only Hessian anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
• Tin casting: Experience molten metal up close – a fascinating insight into a traditional craft technique that delights both young and old.
• Crack geodes & mint tokens: Now it’s your turn. Break open real geodes and discover sparkling treasures inside or mint your own token as a personal souvenir of your day at the mine.
• The TT-Modulisten Wetzlar/Gießen present an impressive model railway in scale 1:120, vividly recreating ore loading and transport in the Lahn Valley.
• Many hands-on activities for children – book the family package here.
• Underground tours every 30 minutes by cage lift and mine railway: Step in and experience mining as it once was, 150 m below ground at Grube Fortuna (book tickets here).

Food and drinks are provided by the team of the mine restaurant “Zum Zechenhaus” with beer garden (reserve a table here).
