Visitors to the Stöffel Park (between Westerburg and Hachenburg) will find a unique mixture of industrial culture, fossil finds, nature, art and events. Basalt was quarried here on 140 hectares in the 20th century. The building backdrop alone is worth seeing. The visitor season starts on Saturday, 1 March. A wonderful time awaits visitors!
The Old Forge fascinates with its original tools and machines and has all kinds of information to offer. On the paths through the 140-hectare site, you will be surprised by numerous eye-catchers: old machines, but also art objects, basalt walls or wild and romantic flora. The site is largely barrier-free.
A series of events await you in Stöffel Park in 2026. The range is broad - there is something for everyone. Fascinating art exhibitions, vintage car and car meetings, nature experiences, hikes for families, classical music, jazz concerts, guided tours, motorbike travel lectures, creative activities, 24-hour mountain bike races... All this and much more is on offer in the Upper Westerwald.
On Sundays and public holidays, the Kohleschuppen café is also open from 1 pm to 6 pm.
