cancelled: Wine festival Frankweiler: Chestnut blossom festival

At the edge of the forest, on the chestnut blossom square, the chestnut blossom festival is celebrated on the weekend after Pentecost. As early as 1960, some brave citizens had the idea of a street festival and organized the event, practically from scratch. Over the following years, the blossom festival grew larger and gained significant regional importance. To accommodate the large crowds, a space was specially created at the edge of the forest for the festival. The chestnut blossom festival has been held there ever since. In the following years, many new wine festivals emerged in the area, and visitors' preferences changed. The trend shifted from large tents to winegrowers' farms. This led to the festival being held for the last time in 1999, at least for a while. However, the association "Interest Group Chestnut Blossom Festival e.V." ended its slumber for the 50th anniversary and revived the blossom festival. Since 2010, we have been celebrating again in a cozy atmosphere, outdoors or under small tents, surrounded by chestnut trees. Thanks to the support of the citizens of Frankweiler and their guests, the "Keschdebliedefescht" has since become firmly established and is once again part of the regional festival culture.

On Saturday evening, May 30, 2026, "RedHott" will heat things up for the guests. On Sunday, May 31, 2026, starting at 10 a.m., Frankweiler invites everyone to a breakfast gathering. Musically, guests will be entertained from 1 p.m. by the duo "Gartenparty" with Jasmin and Chris. A variety of food and beverages will await visitors in large selection. In addition to the classics, our spinach dumplings are new to the offerings. On Sundays, there will also be "Pfalz bruzzelfleisch" and a cake buffet. At the wine tasting stand, the top wines from all Frankweiler winemakers can be sampled. A candy stand and small sales booths have also been organized.
All citizens from Frankweiler as well as guests from near and far are invited.
