Flowering Diversity – A Journey of Discovery through the Perennial Beds of the Markwardanlage

13 years ago, the motto of English gardening expert Beth Chatto – “Right Place – Right Plant” – served as a model for the bed designs of the barrier-free Markwardanlage. The partially existing summer flower beds provided a field for experimentation with sustainable, drought-resistant, and insect-friendly perennial and grass plantings for sun, partial shade, and shade. The area is complemented by a moisture-loving perennial bed and a marsh bed. Thanks to the well-thought-out planting concepts, something is blooming here in every season – a gain for both people and nature.
Perennial expert Elfriede Richter vividly explains the ideas behind the plantings, demonstrates how sustainable gardening works, and offers many practical tips for planting in one’s own garden. An inspiring walk for everyone who is passionate about blooming and future-oriented diversity.
