Hike Annweiler Castle Trail – including guided tour of Reichsburg Trifels

A classic among the Palatinate tours is the 3-Castle Tour in Annweiler am Trifels. The hike on the Annweiler Castle Trail leads over narrow forest paths past the castle ruins Scharfenberg/Münz and Anebos to the famous Reichsburg Trifels. We start the tour with a short walk through the historic old town with the tanner's quarter and experience the history from the Middle Ages to modern times during the castle tour.

We meet at the Tourist Information Annweiler am Trifels and start the tour with a short walk through the old town and the tanner's quarter. Going up Burgstraße, we walk along the spa park until we reach Windhof. Here we hike on shady forest paths past the castle ruins Scharfenberg/Münz and the imposing sandstone climbing rocks. Before making our way up to the castle, we take a break at the castle kiosk to recharge our energy. Now just one steep piece up to the castle and we participate in the official castle tour. This starts at 1 PM, we must be on time at the top, as I am the castle tour guide that day :)
