Guided hike in the biosphere reserve "Sun Hike" with District Forester Ulrich Meyer. Our tour begins in the Bad Urach spa district; we’ll hike through the Dettingen residential area of Buchhalde and the Wachtertal valley up to the Sommerberg. Hiking at “mid-height,” we’ll repeatedly enjoy magnificent views of the Alb foothills and the Ermstal valley; fruit trees as well as rare plants in the nature reserve provide opportunities to pause and take it all in. Soon we reach Kappishäusern, and the Floriansberg comes into view. We walk through the Lindenbach Valley to the Naturfreundehaus Falkenberg and continue through the vineyards. The Ermstalbahn (fee required) takes us back to Bad Urach. Trail length: 15 km, elevation gain: 320 m. A stop for refreshments is planned. Sturdy footwear is required.
