What was the daily life of a Roman soldier like in the 1st century AD? The I. Roman Cohort Opladen demonstrates this in their reconstructed tent camp in the courtyard of the Landesmuseum Mainz. In addition to military drills, craft techniques such as blacksmithing, stone processing, and wool processing are also demonstrated. Children can try writing on wax tablets and calculating with the abacus in the "schola romana." An event for the whole family.
