The Roman water supply and bath culture – above and below ground
Near the Bergstrasse, the foundations of the Roman city wall and the Ruwer water line meet in the basement. This is the perfect location to get to know the fantastic water engineering of this time more closely. How were the aqueducts built so precisely? How did the people of Trier supply themselves with the precious elixir of life? The Romans knew how to live. When visiting the Imperial Baths, you will experience how our ancestors spent their leisure time. These astonishing structures were wellness temples and social networks in one, stimulating for both body and mind, and masterpieces of engineering. In keeping with the Roman lifestyle, participants will enjoy a glass of vinum together at the end.
