1832.Das Fest der Demokratie

During the festival weekend, visitors can expect live acts, concerts, and a diverse stage program featuring music, art, culture, and discussions on current social issues in the historic old town and at Hambach Castle. There are numerous activities for children and teenagers that invite active participation.

A central part of the program is the "meeting point formats": personalities from politics, media, and science engage in conversations with the audience and discuss current issues of democracy as well as the festival motto. The offering is supplemented by workshops that address, reflect on, and strengthen democratic discourse cultures. On festival Saturday, the Day of Cultural Associations will be integrated. On the association mile in Laustergasse and Hauptstraße, local and regional associations, initiatives, and representatives of partner cities invite everyone to engage in conversation, network, and actively experience democracy.
