Hambacher wineries, clubs, restaurateurs, and artists open their beautiful courtyards, cellars, guest rooms, and gardens, inviting you to linger with music, exhibitions, wine, and delicious treats. You will encounter not only the Palatinate's coziness and wine culture but also the events of the Hambach Festival of 1832 in Schlossstraße and parts of the Wine Route.

The name of the festival clearly indicates that its ambitions go far beyond merely succeeding a traditional fair. It references the historical context of the Hambach Festival in 1832, which articulated demands for national unity, democracy, civil liberties, and freedom of the press. The European idea was also already considered here. The offerings of Hambach in black-red-gold: The wines of the Hambacher winemakers to taste and of course also to drink, regional culinary delights, and cultural offerings such as art, music, and theater for young and old. All of this takes place in the special atmosphere of Hambach's Schlossstraße with its old buildings, courtyards, wineries, and gastronomy establishments. A special lighting concept will further enhance the mood in Schlossstraße. The festival was named the most beautiful wine festival in the Palatinate in 2013.

“Thoughts are free...”

Freedom, democracy, and the challenges that come with them: Looking towards Hambach Castle, one is encouraged to let their thoughts run free. Be inspired by the quotes from famous personalities that decoratively line the street on banners, inviting you to pause for a moment in the spirit of the Hambach Festival.

The first day of the festival is again entirely dedicated to wine tasting: Take the “Freedom” in your glass and cheerfully taste your way up and down the alley. The tasting cards are available at the watchman's hut and from all participants. The winemakers are happy to engage in conversation and look forward to good discussions, accompanied by fine live music in some courtyards.

On Saturday evening, a versatile music program awaits you with loud and soft sounds and various styles along the festival mile. In the late evening hours, lighting accents will once more be set, and some corners will appear in a whole new light.

Regional and unusual delicacies will be offered on all days.
