He became known through Edgar Reitz's ‘Die zweite Heimat’ (The Second Home) and ‘Heimat 3’ (Home 3), and received the Adolf Grimme Prize for ‘Ausgerechnet Zoé’ (Zoé of All People). He has staged numerous productions on German stages and in opera houses. He also appears in international film productions and has been teaching dramaturgy at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg since 2012.
