Konzert in der Remise: Brigitta Wollenweber

The pianist Birgitta Wollenweber from Zülpich will perform for the piano evening in the barn of Burg Langendorf. With a wonderful program featuring works by Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, and Modest Mussorgsky, Birgitta Wollenweber will once again captivate the Langendorf audience in the barn.

The pianist Professor Birgitta Wollenweber has performed internationally with piano recitals, as a chamber music partner, and as a soloist with orchestras. She has received invitations to various international festivals and has produced work for radio and television. Her repertoire includes works from all eras, and her discography of 18 CDs includes rediscovered composers featuring piano solo and chamber music works, as well as contemporary works.
Birgitta Wollenweber completed her studies in 1990 with the concert examination at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold under Prof. Renate Kretschmar-Fischer. As a scholarship holder of the DAAD, she studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Peter Wallfish.
She is a winner of the Chopin competition in Cologne and Darmstadt, the Joy Scott Prize from the Royal College of Music, and was honored at the International Piano Competition Maria Canals in Barcelona and at the German Music Competition 1991 with solo concerts of the "Federal Selection Concerts Young Artists" of the German Music Council.

Birgitta Wollenweber is a professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. Her great passion is the promotion of young pianistic talent, including in concert series and theme-related projects. She teaches, among other things, in courses in Germany and abroad.
The Zülpich-born Birgitta Wollenweber already performed as a young pianist at the beginning of the Langendorf concert series in the barn of Burg Langendorf.
