By pedal through the heart of the Gießen Lahntal – a joint bike tour on June 14, 2026, showcases the connection of the six municipalities. Everyone is welcome to join - The tour is open to all!
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the mayors of the six municipalities of the Gießen Lahntal invite you for the second time to a special bike tour: Together, we will ride through one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes in the Gießen district on two wheels. The approximately 40-kilometer route leads from Reiskirchen via Wirberg to Rabenau, Allendorf (Lumda), Staufenberg, Lollar to Buseck – along river valleys, through town centers, and over quiet paths that connect the region. The tour is a manifestation of vibrant coexistence: it makes visible how closely the municipalities in the northern part of the district cooperate – and how much they have to offer together. The route largely follows the Wieseck and Lumda bike paths and is suitable for less experienced cyclists or participants who wish to join along the way.
The tour will kick off at 09:00 a.m. at the municipal administration in Reiskirchen. Arrival in Buseck is planned for around 01:00 p.m. The town halls of the municipalities will be visited along the way. There will be short stops at each intermediate station for exchange. Registration is not required, and refreshments will be provided individually.
Note: The mayors of the six municipalities will be on the road with electric support.
The stage times will be announced shortly.
Anyone who wants to get to know the Gießen Lahntal in a relaxed manner is cordially invited. The region presents itself at its best along the way.
