Peter Klein (piano) and Timo Holstein (vocals) will take the stage together for the last time on Saturday, May 23rd.
15 years after the "end" of SNAILSHOUSE and 7 years after the duo's last concert, Klein and Holstein will once again pick up their instruments together.
As part of the cultural summer of the city of Kirchheimbolanden, "Nimm 2" will perform on May 23rd at 7:30 PM in the baroque Schlossgarten with free admission.
Together, the two have performed around 1,500 concerts over the years. 20 years with the full band, then as a duo. Since the mid-90s, the Palatinate cult combo has been indispensable in the music scene. They released 3 albums and a DVD. Songs like "So wie der Wind" found their way to the radio, and the band toured nationwide as well as in neighboring countries in the early 2000s, sharing the stage with big names such as Reamon, Fury i.t. Slaughterhouse, H-Blockx, Laith Al Deen, Revolverheld, Silbermond, and many others. Their greatest success was the album "Sternzeit" and the subsequent tour, which attracted around 30,000 visitors in just a few weeks in 2002. The celebrated open airs of the band at Waschmühle, Gelterswoog (KL), or on the grounds of the former Bischoff Brewery in Winnweiler are also unforgettable, drawing up to 10,000 visitors at times. While SNAILSHOUSE showcased the rockier side of the musicians, Klein and Holstein later interpreted their favorite piano songs and evergreens acoustically in a duo format, covering artists such as Billy Joel, Bill Withers, Elton John, John Denver, The Beatles, and swing classics by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., or treats from Roger Cicero.
Anyone who wants to experience this one last time has the opportunity on May 23rd when "Nimm 2" will perform their final concert in the Schlossgarten Kirchheimbolanden.
There will be plenty of food and drink available, as the Schwan winery will not only offer a wide selection of beverages but also tasty snacks "to go," so you can munch while enjoying the show.
Seating will be a colorful mix - there will be sets, chairs, standing tables, and beach loungers. Guests are also welcome to bring picnic blankets and chairs on their own.
The gastronomy will open at 6:30 PM, and the concert will begin at 7:30 PM – Admission is free! Should it rain that evening, becoming evident only by midday on the day of the event, the event will move to the Stadthalle at the Orangerie. Thus, the concert will definitely take place.
