This is what it would sound like if Tom Waits sang in Norwegian.
It is a daring bunch that takes the stage. As if they have just stepped out of the enchanted twilight of endless Scandinavian forests. Cloaked figures wearing bowler hats. Seven gentlemen in total, who pick up their instruments to musically bring the literature of Norway to life.
Ljodahått, that is the name of the collective led by the Norwegian Magne Håvard Brekke. Musicians, actors, and composers from across half of Europe, who have set to music old as well as contemporary Norwegian poetry, from the Edda and Henrik Ibsen to Tarjei Vesaas and Olav H. Hauge.
