During Nature Discovery Day at Heuneburg, high above the Danube Valley and surrounded by stunning scenery, visitors can experience nature up close, immerse themselves in history, and enjoy a diverse program of activities. On Sunday, September 6, the State Palaces and Gardens invite you to the Nature Discovery Day in the town of Pyrene at Heuneburg from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. High above the Danube Valley, surrounded by the impressive landscape, visitors can experience nature up close, feel the history, and enjoy a diverse program. In addition to hands-on activities and stations for all ages, the event day features other highlights: for example, Dr. Moritz Lange, project manager of the Celtic Experience World for State Palaces and Gardens, will provide exclusive insights into the project “The Future of Heuneburg” during a special guided tour at 11:00 a.m. Focus on Nature An impressive landscape stretches around the plateau of the former Celtic metropolis, a landscape that has been cultivated, shaped, and repeatedly transformed over millennia. Families and nature lovers are invited to experience Heuneburg as a living place full of history and green diversity. This special connection will be brought to life during the event day. Special Guided Tour “The Future of Heuneburg” With the expansion of Heuneburg into a Celtic and nature experience world, two major projects have been launched. The special guided tour at 11 a.m. offers exciting insights into the expansion of the Talhof and demonstrates how the state-owned estate is being expanded into a visitor center in accordance with heritage preservation standards. In addition, guests will be introduced to the nature discovery area, which is to be created on the priority archaeological sites surrounding Heuneburg. Registration is required. Hands-on Activities for the Whole Family Throughout the day, guests of all ages can experience the region’s nature and culture up close at various stations. For children, there are numerous craft and hands-on activities.
