Without the groundbreaking invention of the electric guitar, history would have taken a different course. The 1968 era, Jimi Hendrix, the hippies, Janis Joplin, and Woodstock would not have happened as we know them without the invention of the electric guitar.
It is the soundtrack and its resonances in society that make a movement successful. The squatters had Ton Steine Scherben, and the peace movement had Bots & BAP. The women's movement had Ina Deter, and the punkers had Patti Smith. Today, the climate movement stands without its own sound and threatens to lose: the Earth is continuously getting hotter. A catastrophe that Jürgen Becker perfectly analyzes in “Deine Disco.”
“Deine Disco” is a cabaret program like no other: politics, records, protest, and punchlines are mixed live on stage like an exhilarating radio show. One dives satirically deep into the sound files of the active youth and ultimately even saves the future: Follow the Science.
But don’t forget the emotions! Joseph Beuys famously answered the question of whether art can change the world with: “Only with art!”
The proceeds from the event will go to the support association of the facility for people with severe multiple disabilities.
