The lecture series “Conflicts in the Present and Future” starts in the summer semester of 2026 and invites discussions on current and highly relevant questions surrounding the topic of peace.
What is peace? On what concepts does it rely, who advocates for it, and how can it be achieved? In light of current violent conflicts, the lecture series addresses various discourses, perspectives, and approaches to the topic of peace. The focus is not on establishing a uniform definition of peace, but rather on engaging with diverse definitions, societal needs, and concrete fields of action. The lecture series invites reflection on peace as a complex and shapeable concept – and aims to bring it back into the focus of scientific and public debates, particularly against the backdrop of war and destruction.
