The Tuttlingen House was rebuilt after the city fire of November 1, 1803. It illustrates Tuttlingen’s history through the stories of its former residents.
The building housed two families who had not lived together under one roof before the fire. The building exhibits all the typical features of houses built after the town fire: from the unchanged hipped roof, the “Tuttlingen hat,” to the elevator shaft inside the building and the division into condominiums, all the characteristics of Tuttlingen houses are represented. From the basement to the attic, visitors can trace the building’s former life.
Exhibits include a city model, a blacksmith’s workshop, living situations, and objects related to the themes of rule, cityscape, life stages, club culture, and immigration. In the attic, there is an unobstructed view into a “Tuttlinger Hut” and the “Obertenloch.”
