On Monday, 6 July, the revised edition of Franz Braumann’s biography of Raiffeisen, *Rastlos Solidarisch*, will be presented at the Mehrgenerationshaus & Bildung Café Mittendrin, Wilhelmstraße 10, 57610 Altenkirchen. As part of Raiffeisen Week, we invite all interested parties to rediscover the life and work of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen – the social reformer, visionary and former mayor of Weyerbusch, who laid the foundations for his later successes in the cooperative movement.
The event begins at 6.30 pm.
The work, previously known to many under the title “Ein Mann bezwingt die Not”, is now being published in a new, attractive design under the title “Rastlos solidarisch”.
Raiffeisen ambassador Julie Georgis will read selected passages from the book. In it, Franz Braumann describes Raiffeisen’s influence on 19th-century society and the emergence of the first cooperatives in a lively, narrative style reminiscent of Carl Zuckmayer.
Afterwards, lively discussions between guests and participants can take place.
