Remstal Tourismus
Am Schönbrunnen 2, 73457 Essingen
The mega hiking event in the Remstal Valley with up to 1,500 participants! In 2026, it will take place in the Upper Remstal Valley, starting and finishing in Essingen.
The **12-hour hike** will once again be held as a loop hike in 2026. Covering a distance of approx. **44 km** and approx. **920 meters of elevation gain**, the route goes from Essingen through the Weiherwiesen and Wental nature reserves toward Bartholomä and Lauterburg, and back to Essingen via the Rosenstein. The hike starts at **9 a.m.** at the Schönbrunnenhalle in Essingen. The group does not have to stay together during the hike; everyone can hike at their own pace.
Along the route, there are **three** rest and refreshment stations offering food and drinks on a pay-as-you-go basis, as well as restrooms and seating areas. In addition, there will be two “to-go” stations along the way where each participant will receive one **free** bottle (0.5 L) of still water and one **free** snack (banana or granola bar). A get-together will take place at the finish line. More detailed information about the food and drinks available at all stations will be sent via email to all participants approximately 10 days before the hike, along with the final important information. Vegetarian options will also be available at all stations. Unfortunately, for organizational reasons, we cannot accommodate other dietary preferences or intolerances.
**First aid** will be provided as quickly as possible in case of an emergency. If you have to stop the hike for health reasons, a **free shuttle bus** will be available at the three aid stations to take you back to Essingen (start & finish).
Every participant will receive a **medal** at the finish area. This also applies if the hike is stopped early. A certificate will be available for download after the event.
Shortly before the start, there will be an award ceremony for the group with the most participants and the group with the most creative matching outfit.
You have the option to book a **Flex Ticket**. If you book this ticket type, you can cancel the ticket or change the name free of charge up to 7 days before the hike. Only a processing fee of €5.00 will be charged. The **Standard Ticket** does not offer these options.
For **groups of 10 or more people**, we offer Flex Tickets with a 10% discount.
After booking your ticket, you can order an [exclusive hiking shirt or cap](https://remstal.myspreadshop.de/12-stunden-remstalwanderung?collection=EfIBATbAeM) from our partner Spreadshirt.
