Waibstadt City Festival

The Waibstadt City Festival will once again be a celebration of community and local clubs. Thousands of visitors from near and far are expected to attend. In addition to lively live music and numerous stage performances, the clubs will be serving delicious food and drinks at their stands to keep the many guests well fed and hydrated. This year, the town festival has something special in store: It kicks off as early as Thursday with the town festival musical theater performance on the church steps: “So geil is Waibschd!” The plot of this musical theater: How do you explain to a traveler passing through why Waibstadt is so special? With stories from our amazing history! On this evening, Waibstadt’s history comes to life. Nostalgic—humorous and musical! Something for everyone! Doors open at 5:00 PM, show starts at 6:30 PM. Waibstadt actors and actresses include Thomas Kaiser, Doro Bay, René Deigner, Erich Kaiser, Honorary Citizen Joachim Locher, Simone Lutz, Barbara Schäuble, and Mayor Boris Schmitt. Well-known musicians include Holger Ries, tenor and artistic director of the Zwingenberg Castle Festival; Lia Joham, known from The Voice; Adrian Branz; Vinz the Prince; Dirk Rumig; Marvin Dallaway; Bianca Schaffert; Joe Krieg; Christoph Lewandowski; and many more. And on City Festival Friday, everyone—especially our senior citizens—is invited to the market square at 3:30 p.m. for bingo. On Saturday and Sunday, you can look forward to a lively festival atmosphere with plenty of music and many program highlights!
