The Schopfheim Art Association is presenting **“Transformations – Human Figures – Earth Stories”** at the **Kulturfabrik Schopfheim**. The exhibition brings together the works of **Liesa Trefzer** and **Kurt Mair**, showcasing an inspiring artistic friendship.
**Liesa Trefzer**, a ceramicist, poet, and longtime gallery owner, combines image, word, and material in her work to create poetic visual worlds. From the earth’s material, she creates forms that speak of transformation, memory, and inner landscapes. Her ceramic works bear traces of the creative process and simultaneously evoke associations between nature, humanity, and history.
**Kurt Mair**, born in Germany and now
living and working in Italy, is a painter and graphic artist. Known for his
delicate etchings, drawings, and paintings, he devotes himself
particularly to the human figure. In the manner of the old masters, he
draws on motifs, figures, and portraits from Renaissance and Baroque painting
and combines them with sensual female nudes to create an expressive,
yet sensitive visual style.
Between human form and the shape of the earth, line and material,
a multifaceted interplay between the two artists unfolds. The
exhibition allows two distinct artistic positions
to resonate with one another—driven by mutual inspiration,
a long-standing bond, and a shared quest for expression.
