The International Museum Day invites you to rediscover cultural treasures.
The Hackenberger Mill Museum and the Amüseum at the waterfall are participating in this action day with special highlights. Admission to both venues is free during regular opening hours.
Visitors can look forward to an exciting mix of historical technology, modern art, and innovative digital mediation.
Amüseum at the Waterfall: Art meets Mixed Reality
· Sculpture exhibition: Admire the impressive works of Trier artist Andreas Hamacher, whose sculptures are the focus of the current changing exhibition.
· Experience hydropower: A technological highlight awaits in the museum's basement. With a Mixed Reality application, guests can virtually and closely experience how the hydropower system works.
· Audio tour: For a deeper insight, the popular audio tour is available.
Hackenberger Mill: Technology that inspires
· New explanatory film: Guests will now be welcomed in the mill by a new explanatory film that explains the fascinating mill technology in both German and English.
· Functional model: The functional model illustrates the craftsmanship of past days.
· Audio tour: The popular audio tour is also available here for a deeper insight. Program for young explorers In both museums, a children's quiz provides playful entertainment. Children who answer the tricky questions about the exhibitions will be rewarded at the end with a small gift.
Amüseum: Open from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Mühlenmuseum: Open from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
