Bread has played an important role in various cultures for generations. In Europe, bread is deeply rooted in the culture of hospitality, and in Nigeria, bread also holds a special place in the hearts of families. There is a wide variety of bread types: from fruit bread to banana bread and coconut bread, to the popular Agege bread. Kininso Koncepts explores the question: Who prefers which bread? And is it true that in Germany, hearty dark bread is preferred, while in Nigeria, soft and white bread is favored?

This is the starting point of an exciting artistic journey. The phrase "bread and butter" has a special significance in Nigeria, symbolizing unity and harmony, and an expression of mutual solidarity.

Joshua Alabi and his theater group Kininso Koncepts, known to many from two KUSS festivals where they presented SANDSCAPE and KOLOFU for audiences starting from age 2, are coming as "Artists in Residence" to HLTM and will be working with ensemble members for all people aged 7 and up who long for BREAD AND BUTTER.
