Not every concert hall has chandeliers and velvet curtains. Sometimes a former cattle shed and first-class music are enough.

Under the title “Classical Music at the Cattle Shed”, the Rotary Club Westerwald invites you to a special charity concert weekend at Hofgut Holschbach in Wissen on Saturday 8 August (6 pm) and Sunday 9 August (1 pm).

The barn, which has been carefully renovated by the Becher family over the past few years, provides an atmospheric setting for a summer concert experience on the farm. This weekend, internationally renowned musicians will bring chamber music to life in a rural setting, up close and personal, far removed from the grandeur of large concert halls.

The musical programme is curated by the Wendlingen-based piano virtuoso Evgeniia Smirnova. As a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen), she was able to bring together a group of top-class fellow musicians to perform at this charity concert.

The concept combines high-quality music, an unusual venue and, above all, a good cause: in keeping with Rotary tradition, the proceeds from the event will go towards a social project in the region.

The concert weekend will be accompanied by simple, rustic cuisine, perfectly in keeping with the spirit of a summer cultural treat on the farm. 150 tickets are available for both the evening concert on Saturday and the matinee concert on Sunday.
