Not every concert hall has chandeliers and velvet curtains. Sometimes a former cattle barn and top-notch music are enough.
Under the title "Classics at the Cattle Barn," the Rotary Club Westerwald invites you to a special benefit concert weekend at Hofgut Holschbach in Wissen on Saturday, August 8 (6 p.m.) and Sunday, August 9 (1 p.m.).
The barn, carefully renovated by the Becher family in recent years, provides an atmospheric backdrop for a summer concert experience on the farm. Over the weekend, internationally renowned musicians will bring chamber music up close, far from large concert halls, in a rural setting.
The music program is curated by piano virtuoso Evgeniia Smirnova, who lives in Wendlingen. As a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen), she has been able to recruit high-caliber musician colleagues for this benefit concert.
The concept combines high-quality music, an unusual venue, and above all, a good cause: In accordance with Rotary tradition, the proceeds from the event will go to a social project in the region.
The concert weekend will be accompanied by rustic simple cuisine, in the spirit of a summer cultural enjoyment on the farm. For the evening concert on Saturday and the matinée concert on Sunday, 150 tickets will be offered for each. Ticket pre-sale: der buchladen, Maarstraße 12, 57537 Wissen, as well as through the provided email address (pre-sale only, no box office on the evening of the event).
