However, following the successful premiere of their latest play, their lives are suddenly turned upside down by the arbitrariness of the state. Overnight, they lose their jobs and, with them, their livelihood. Now they face the difficult task of reconciling their ideals and convictions with the real necessities of life. Sudden unemployment puts not only their financial security but also their marriage to the test. As they search together for new opportunities to continue their careers, they must grapple with the conflicts between their ideals and the practical demands of everyday life. External pressure and constant uncertainty increasingly strain their relationship.
