Co-presented by Stickman-Productions GbR, this evening brings together short film, tight deadlines, teamwork, and improvisation: On display are films created in just 48 hours—from the initial idea to the final export.
One weekend, one theme, one technical constraint, no safety nets: That’s exactly what makes the Stickman 48h Challenge so compelling. On Friday evening, the teams are given a specific word and a cinematic constraint—such as a fixed lens, black-and-white, or a single light source. The finished short film must be submitted by Sunday evening. The focus isn’t on polished perfection, but on ingenuity, the courage to make decisions, and the desire to turn limitations into something unique.
The screening at the Schwanen brings these very diverse works to the big screen. Sometimes raw, sometimes precisely composed, sometimes offbeat, funny, or surprisingly quiet: the films show what emerges when time is tight yet ideas are still given room to breathe. The fact that the challenge deliberately evaluates not the camera, budget, or technology, but rather vision, execution, and team spirit, makes it appealing to young filmmakers and the curious alike.
Thus, the evening becomes more than just a showcase of works. It is cinema, a meeting place, and a glimpse into an independent film scene that sets its own challenges and generates momentum from them.
If you want to see how much energy, wit, and cinematic style can fit into 48 hours, this is the place for you.
