VERNISSAGE: SHADOW WORLDS
On Saturday, 4.7.26 at 20:00 Kay Maeritz will open the new exhibition “Shadow Worlds” with painting and drawings in his studio at Burggarten in Londorf-Rabenau.
Also on display will be astonishing Kinetic Objects by Jürgen Wissner. He meticulously designs these objects with great attention to detail. With his object 42, for example, he provides the answer to the question of the meaning of life...
The exploration of the destructive impact of humans on our planet, as well as the investigation of natural structures and physical metamorphoses, shapes the artistic work of Kay Maeritz.
A new focus is on drawings, with which Kay Maeritz returns to his favorite technique. Starting from existing structures in handmade paper, a unique world of images emerges in the space between the fantastic and the erotic. Literary references as well as connections to the “trumpesque” world can be found.
The exhibition “Shadow Worlds” will be displayed in seven rooms and in the stairwell of the “Borgmellesch House” behind the Burggarten Londorf.
On Sunday, 5.7.26 from 12:00-19:00 visitors are also warmly welcomed as part of the open gallery at Atelier Maeritz (parallel to Art in the Park in the neighboring Burggarten in Londorf).
