VERNISSAGE: SHADOW WORLDS
On Saturday, July 4th, 1926 at 8:00 PM Kay Maeritz will open the new exhibition “Shadow Worlds” with paintings and drawings in his studio at Burggarten in Londorf-Rabenau.
Additionally, astonishing Kinetic Objects by Jürgen Wissner will also be on display. He meticulously creates these objects with great attention to detail. With his object 42, for example, he provides the answer to the question about the meaning of life...
The confrontation with the destructive impact of humanity on our planet, as well as the exploration of natural structures and physical metamorphoses, shape the artistic work of Kay Maeritz.
A new focus will be drawings, with which Kay Maeritz returns to his favorite technique. Starting from existing structures in handmade paper, a unique world of images emerges, balancing between the fantastic and the erotic. Literary references and connections to the "Trumpesque" world can also be found.
The exhibition “Shadow Worlds” will be on display in seven rooms and in the stairwell of the “Borgmellesch House” behind Burggarten Londorf.
Visitors are also warmly welcome on Sunday, July 5th, 1926 from 12:00-19:00 as part of the open gallery at the Maeritz studio (in parallel with Art in the Park in the neighboring Burggarten in Londorf).

OUTDOOR PROJECTION ON LARGE SCREEN: SHADOW LIGHT - PHOTOGRAPHS FROM MOROCCO
On Saturday, July 4th, 1926 starting at around 10:00 PM as night falls (only in good weather), new photographs from Morocco on the theme of shadow light will be shown on a large screen at the neighboring Burgmühle. Kay Maeritz will display and comment on the images live. Please bring warm clothing or blankets if necessary.
