Taff Rapid – Live-Konzert in der Soku

The international profile of the band has grown significantly in a short time. They were officially represented at the IBMA World of Bluegrass (USA) – as the first Welsh act ever – as well as at Folk Alliance International (Canada), which allowed them to develop considerable momentum, particularly in North America. In parallel, their presence in Europe has expanded significantly, with performances at major festivals such as the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, Green Man, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, Sesiwn Fawr, La Roche, Rotterdam, Beardy Folk Festival, Fire in the Mountain, The Magpies Festival, and many more in the UK and the EU. Their captivating live show – deeply rooted in tradition yet unmistakably distinctive – has established them as one of the most exciting emerging live folk acts in the United Kingdom.

The media response is also extremely strong. Taff Rapids receive regular airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales, and BBC Radio Cymru, as well as television appearances on BBC Two, BBC Four, and S4C, including coverage of their performance at the National Eisteddfod. Their debut album Blŵgras (2025) was positively reviewed in Songlines and R2 Magazine and marks an important milestone in the development of their own repertoire.

After successful tours in the UK, Europe, and Canada – and with an ever-growing international network of supporters – Taff Rapids are continuing to expand their global presence. Their blend of Welsh folk influences, traditional bluegrass, and modern songwriting resonates worldwide and positions them at the forefront of a new wave of contemporary transatlantic bluegrass.
