I warmly invite you to a guided herbal walk on the Monreal Castle Mountain. Together we will discover the fascinating diversity of local flora and get to know wild plants that have been growing here for centuries. In the process, I will share knowledge about their current and historical uses – as medicinal, dye, or magical plants and as food.
The Monreal Castle Mountain is an ecologically highly interesting, protected biotope with an extraordinarily diverse plant world. Some of the plants are protected by law, while others played an important role in people's everyday lives, especially in times of need. Much of this knowledge has been lost with the increasing alienation from nature, but is now being rediscovered by people who care about sustainable use of our natural resources.
The focus of the tour is on consciously perceiving, recognizing, and understanding wild herbs in their natural habitat.
At the end, we will conclude the hike in a relaxed atmosphere in the former castle garden – with homemade herbal lemonade and a small herbal snack.
Important Notes:
The terrain is steep and requires good physical fitness. Sturdy footwear is recommended, hiking poles can be helpful.
Unfortunately, dogs cannot be brought along.
