Experience the festival before the festival: Just like last year, we want to warm up our audience to festival temperatures on the Saturday before the actual start of fermate and invite you to an exclusive warm-up concert with dinner at the Dr. Wehrheim winery.
The roaring Golden 20s set the rhythm and key for us this year. We take this as an opportunity to practice dancing on the volcano during the opening concert: Let yourself be taken away to pulsating Berlin in 1920 by cheeky songs from Kurt Weill, immortal hits from Friedrich Hollaender, and critical and humorous texts from Kurt Tucholsky, Erich Kästner, and Hugo Ball.
Soprano Ilse Berner embodies the most diverse female figures of this crazy decade throughout the evening: lascivious seductresses, failed existences, notorious adulteresses, kleptomaniacs, and sawn-in-half ladies.
The well-known journalist and author Michael Konrad, who is not only known to readers of Rheinpfalz am Sonntag, serves commentary and parody poems and texts. In solo pieces like the Fox macabre, the Rag 1920, and the Galopp final, Christoph Berner shows off his pianistic dance skills.
Following this lively revue, the entire package of the evening awaits you with a high-class dinner from Maitre Kevin Wilde. His restaurant LETL on Rott Island has been a culinary attraction for years.
In the festively glowing Dr. Wehrheim winery, a 3-course menu will be served to you, including the great wines of the house!
