Women's Chamber Choir Marburg with the Trio d'accord.

The Women's Chamber Choir Marburg will perform this year's concert program together with the Trio d'accord under the direction of Mareike Hilbrig. 

In the current program of the Women's Chamber Choir, music by female composers will predominantly be performed, but this time the thematic focus will be on peace. The centerpiece of the program is the work "A Blessing of Cranes" by Abbie Betinis. The contemporary American composer has set to music the story of a Japanese girl who initially survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima but later succumbed to the effects of radiation. In the hospital, Sadako Sasaki folded over a thousand origami cranes and wrote the word "Peace" on their wings. The other compositions of the evening also seek ways and contributions to peace through text and music. The musicians of the Trio d'accord, Selma Bonney-Raven (violin), Boginja Fendel (flute), and Julia Reck (piano), will contribute two works by Mel Bonis and Madeleine Dring.
