Thomas Bauser & Friends, a top-tier trio, will perform within the historic walls, bringing the distinctive sound of the Hammond organ into the church. Stuttgart-based organist Thomas Bauser, founder of the renowned concert series *Hammond Jazz Night*, will arrive with his analog Hammond organ and original Leslie cabinet. The Hammond organ was originally developed in the 1930s as an alternative to the pipe organ for churches—an instrument, therefore, that also has its roots in sacred spaces. Together with Arno Haas on tenor saxophone and Marcel Gustke on drums, a lively jazz dialogue emerges between groove, improvisation, and melodic freedom. All three musicians are among the leading figures of the German jazz scene. The Jazz Matinee serves as a bright, open counterpoint to the more meditative evening events of the Höri Midsummer Nights, allowing visitors to experience the venerable church from a different, summery, musical perspective on this morning.
