Liturgy, light, and music reflect the mystical message of St. Genesius. This core message of Christian mysticism is the focus of this year’s Feast of St. Genesius in Schienen. According to tradition, Saint Genesius of Rome—an actor, stage artist, musician, and dancer in the 3rd century—laid aside his mask and began an authentic life. The service explores this theme through liturgy, lighting, and music. The service will be led by Pastor Ekkehard Baumgartner and the renowned family ensemble “Familienchörle” from Bad Säckingen. Those who wish may join a guided tour of the archaeological excavations and findings from March 2026 led by Ms. Doris Schuller (University of Tübingen). Following the service, starting at 11:30 a.m., the Schienen Fire Department invites you to a summer festival featuring a morning beer and lunch.
