HERITAGE DAY: Networks of History – Experience Heidengraben

At the 2026 Open Monument Day at the Heidengraben Center, visitors can experience Celtic life, take guided tours, and gain insights into both historical and modern networks in the region surrounding the Heidengraben. Under this year’s theme *“NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure”*, the Heidengraben Center invites visitors to enjoy a diverse program. This intermunicipal project impressively demonstrates how historical and modern networks shape our region: from the Celtic settlement area to today’s collaboration among three municipalities. Visitors can look forward to an exciting day featuring lively history presentations, guided tours, and insights into past and present connections. **Program** **Riusiava Celtic Group (all day)** *Celtic Life – Networks of the Past* The Celtic Group vividly brings Celtic life to life through demonstrations and discussions. This highlights how closely community, exchange, and infrastructure were already intertwined back then. **11:30 a.m. – Guided tour of the outdoor grounds** *Celtic Networks – Traces on the Grounds* A tour of the experiential field allows visitors to experience archaeological structures as a coherent system. Settlements, paths, and land use demonstrate how early networks shaped life and continue to influence our regional identity to this day. **2:30 PM – Guided tour of the exhibition** *The Heidengraben Center as a Network* The exhibition explains the center’s intermunicipal concept.
