The castle complex on a basalt cone at the edge of the historic old town of Wetzlar has a varied history. Today, only the ruins of the tower have been preserved. High above the old town, there is a comprehensive view of the houses of the old town, the Lahn valley, and the hills of the Lahn-Dill highlands.
