When different generations of women meet, so do the worlds in which they live. Especially when their fame has spread far beyond the city limits of Trier.
And so, Helena, the ancient empress mother of Constantine the Great and legendary discoverer of the garment of Jesus Christ, finds herself in disagreement with Jenny Marx, the wife of the famous philosopher and economist Karl Marx, whose writings she discussed, wrote, and brought to publication, about the sense or nonsense of emperorship and religion. She is also not in agreement with the butcher's wife, Adelheid von Besselich, who wanted to save the soul of her deceased husband and hothead Clas from purgatory through pious foundations in the Middle Ages. However, even if the questions regarding the most impressive architecture, the perfected enjoyment of wine and food, the right clothing, or the sufficient number of churches in the 4th, 15th, or 19th century were answered quite differently: In the end, friendship is more important than dispute. Just like the entertainment the guests have during the turbulent costume tour with Helena, Adelheid, and Jenny.
