Guided bike tour to Michaelsberg in Gundelsheim

Join a guided bike tour starting in Bad Rappenau, through the Huckenbach Valley and along the Neckar River to Gundelsheim, where you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Himmelreich. The tour starts in Rappenau, passes through the Huckenbach Valley down to the Neckar River, and continues on to Gundelsheim. There, you’ll climb Michaelsberg Hill, home to the historic St. Michael’s Chapel, which rises about 100 meters above the Neckar. From a viewing platform directly above Himmelreich—the vineyard across from Horneck Castle—you can take in the surroundings of Gundelsheim. Gundelsheim with its old town, as well as views of Ehrenberg Castle, Guttenberg Castle, and Hornberg Castle, make this tour an impressive experience. During the tour and while stopping for a break at a traditional restaurant or café, there is plenty of time to chat with like-minded people. The tour follows paved paths as well as gravel forest trails. It crosses the Neckar Valley, which naturally involves some elevation gain.
