Geführte Wanderung: Hieronymushaus

The destination is the Hieronymus House at Radhausberg. Walking time: 6 hours, 720 meters of ascent (3.5 hours), 580 meters of descent (2.5 hours). On this impressive hike, we encounter witnesses of gold mining, which reached its peak in Bad Gastein in the mid-16th century. The hiking trail begins below the Gasteiner Healing Gallery in Böckstein and leads through the Haitzing Forest in moderately steep switchbacks. The Hieronymus House, built by the last reigning Archbishop Hieronymus Count Colloredo, was destroyed by an avalanche in 1975. Here, you can still see remnants of other miners' houses, processing sites, and hoisting machines.
