**In collaboration with the Stuttgart Feierabendkollektiv, we host an open evening on select Tuesdays for playing together, improvising, and sharing ideas. Beginners, pros, those looking for a band, and anyone curious are welcome.**
The Schwanen Jam Session is entering its next round: Since 2024, the Kulturhaus Schwanen, in cooperation with the Stuttgart Feierabendkollektiv, has been inviting musicians and listeners to an open evening for making music together, exchanging ideas, and spontaneous encounters. The dates for the 2026/2027 season will take place on select Tuesdays at the Kulturhaus Schwanen in Waiblingen; The event starts at 7 p.m. each time; setup begins at 6 p.m. for those interested in the technical aspects.
The Schwanen Jam Session is aimed at anyone who feels like creating music in the moment: beginners, experienced players, those looking for a band, those curious about performing on stage, professionals, after-work musicians, and people who want to dust off their instrument after a long break. There are no stylistic boundaries. Jazz, rock, pop, funk, soul, classical, free improvisation, or a mix of everything can come together here in a single evening.
The format is deliberately kept open: no openers, no band introductions, no fixed slots. Anyone who wants to play can drop by, bring their own instrument if possible, and join in. Those who prefer to listen can stay at the bar, sit in the hall, meet people, and experience how initial chords, beats, bass lines, or melodies come together to create a shared evening.
The hall opens at 6 p.m. for setup and soundcheck. Anyone interested in sound and lighting technology can help out, take a look, and gain practical insights into event operations. The session begins at 7 p.m. Drinks and snacks are available at the hall bar or at Fidels.
