Albstadt Band: Summer with Monotape

Summertime is open-air season—and of course that goes for Albstadt too! The **Albstadt Band Summer** is kicking off a new season and will once again bring plenty of music, good vibes, and a true festival atmosphere to Bürgerturmplatz in Albstadt-Ebingen in 2026. Monotape – a seven-piece band dedicated to the retro sound of the ’60s and ’70s. However, with many modern elements, they’ve developed a style all their own: independent soul, which, thanks to the background singers, strongly evokes the early Motown sound and features classic instrumentation with drums, bass, and guitar. Alongside the charismatic frontwoman, up to four “ladies” take the stage, delivering vocal power and choreography that really gets the crowd going.  Song titles like “What a Man” are among their own creations—all self-produced, meaning the musicians pour their hearts out in the lyrics about whatever is on their minds. Sonically, however, you’ll always feel transported back to the golden years of soul, yet with rock and even psychedelic influences—a uniquely cool sound that’s especially fun to experience live.
